Terms of service
The agreement between you and NoeticCog. The section that matters most is the one about what this is not, so it comes first.

This is not medical care
NoeticCog is a self-tracking tool. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for a doctor, therapist or crisis service. Its scores are arithmetic on numbers you typed in — they describe a pattern in your own reports, not a clinical finding.
Do not use it to decide whether to start, stop or change any treatment. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
The safety features are best effort
Reminders, crisis banners and trusted-contact alerts depend on email delivery, push notifications, network availability and third-party services outside our control. They can be delayed or fail to arrive. Do not rely on NoeticCog to summon help. It is not a monitoring service and nobody is watching your account.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older.
- Give a real email address — it is the only way to recover your account. We cannot restore access to an address you cannot receive mail at.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One account per person. Do not create accounts for anyone else, or enter another person’s health information.
Sharing with clinicians and contacts
When you invite a clinician, create a share link, or nominate a trusted contact, you are choosing to disclose your own information. You are responsible for who you give it to. We are not party to your relationship with them, and inviting a clinician through the product does not create a clinician-patient relationship or make us responsible for their advice.
Your data is yours
You keep ownership of everything you enter. You can export it or delete your account at any time from Settings, without asking us. We grant ourselves no licence to your content beyond what is needed to run the service for you. See the Privacy page for the detail.
Plans and payment
Some features are limited by plan. Prices and inclusions may change, and we will tell you before a change affects a plan you are paying for. Free features may be changed or withdrawn. If paid plans are unavailable at the time you read this, no charge applies and nothing is owed.
Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to access another person’s data, or probe, scan or interfere with the service.
- Do not automate account creation, scrape the service, or resell access.
- Do not use it to store information about someone who has not agreed to it.
Availability
The service is provided as-is, with no uptime guarantee. We may change or suspend features, and there may be interruptions for maintenance or reasons beyond our control. Keep your own export if continuity matters to you.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time, which removes your data immediately and permanently. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law. If we discontinue the service we will give reasonable notice so you can export your history first.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, NoeticCog is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for decisions made on the basis of the scores, or for any failure of a reminder or alert to arrive. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the revised terms.
